Bug hunt
8 May 2022Helen organised for bug expert Alan to come to the farm and lead us all on a hunt for creepy crawlies.
Jack in particular embraced this activity with maximum effort and ran rings around us chasing moths and butterflies. We saw a number of Orange Tip butterflies but failed to capture any however they're quite distinct so didn't need close up inspection for identification.
A couple of times we spotted interesting things that disappeared when we tried to investigate, but here are some of the things we found...

One of our honey bees collecting pollen at one of our fruit trees

A Black Clock Beetle

Our Bug Hunt organiser Helen seeing what she can find at the top of the farm

Our merry band of bug hunters

Jack and Andy at the wildlife pond

A Rams Horn water snail

Katy and Dolly

We found lots of spiders
